I hate Sophos

SCREW the school's antivirus software. It keeps freaking messing up my computer. I finally uninstalled that crap today. Free at last!

I didn't do as well on the LS midterm as I thought I did b/c of the curve. BLAH. It makes me sad. I'm pretty afraid of the chem midterm. I think I need to do some hardcore studying for that one. I haven't been keeping up with the reading, so it could be bad. All those crazy premed kids are going to screw up the curve, just like with LS. Lame. I wonder what I got on my econ midterm???

Hmm...nothing new. Oh yeah, I got a job! I'm supposed to work with the access people, but I haven't started yet b/c I need to pick up my social security card and driver's license (finally) to get fingerprinted and stuff. Exciting.

I guess that's all for now in my oh-so-fabulous life.

OC Season 2 Spoilers

I just got back from watching the first two episodes, so yes, there are spoilers ahead.

Ryan gets a job as a construction worker. Seth goes to Portland and is staying with Luke and his gay father. Sandy visits Ryan, gives him a plane ticket to Portland, and asks him to talk Seth into coming back. Meanwhile, Julie has been spending her new husband's money like water, and Cal is all paranoid about the Feds. Ryan goes to Portland, missing Teresa's check-up in the process. While he's in Portland, she calls him and tells him she's had a miscarriage (people cheered).

Ryan: "You don't want me to come home."
Teresa: (in tears) "You don't want to come home."

She's lying about the miscarriage, of course, because she realizes how miserable he is with her. Ryan and Seth go back to the OC.

Umm....

Oh yeah. Marissa has a drinking problem, and Summer has a new bf, Zack (who is waaay hot), and is angry at Seth. There is some super-hot yard guy, D.J. (I think that was his name), whom Marissa has been hooking up with, but we don't find that out until a more dramatic moment in the episode, of course.

First day of school. Seth and Ryan get out of the car to see Marissa and Summer. Marissa hugs Ryan, Summer runs away. Seth unknowingly befriends Summer's new bf, but finds out later, of course.

The DA has enough evidence to incriminate Cal, and Sandy tells Julie, who is furious, and threatens, "If Cal goes down, [Seth's mom] is going down with him. My kids won't be the only ones to lose everything," or something like that. Sandy and Cal are getting along remarkably well, though.

Marissa screams at her mom when she pries about "what is wrong with [her] lately." Low point of her acting career, besides the scene when...

She tries to break up with Hot Yard Boy, who saw her kissing Ryan earlier, and is all insulted that she's all condescending to him around her friends. They kiss just as Ryan drives up and sees them. Cheesiest point of the entire thing (people laughed).

They all go to the carnival (not together), where Ryan tells Marissa they should just be friends, Seth attempts to win Summer back in front of Zack (to no avail), and everyone has an all-around miserable time.

They come home to see Cal, Seth's mom, and Sandy having take-out, when the police come and arrest Cal.

The end.

I think I might have forgotten some stuff, and it's all out of order, and I cut out the unimportant stuff, but I think I got the gist of it.

Enjoy.

A Moment of Weakness...

Happy Conservative Culture Week...'tards...

So apparently, this week is Conservative Culture Week here at UCLA, presented by the Bruin Republicans, of course. Today is Coming Out Day (as in, coming out as conservative, NOT gay), tomorrow is Flag Day, Wednesday is Cowboy Hat Day (nice), and I forgot what Thursday is. On my way back to the dorms, I saw a little "rally" of like 10 people. Some guy was talking on the hill on Bruin Walk. He said stuff like, "I may have long hair, but I'm definitely not a hippie," calling democrats "victi-crats" and baby-killers, and how he was "coming out" as a conservative on a liberal campus, and how all the other conservatives should come out with him. Just because you're liberal doesn't mean you're pro-choice, and just because you're conservative doesn't mean you're not. Most people just looked at him incredulously as they walked by, or laughed. Then some guy after him went up there and started saying, "What have the liberals done for you? What have the democrats done for you? In the past, democratic policies have failed..." and on and on. Ironically (or not), right in front of the grassy area where they were speaking was the sign for the Bruin Democrats.

I am glad that I go to a liberal school full of liberal people.

I just got back from the LS midterm. It was a lot easier than last quarter's. I think I did okay. At least, I hope I did.

Oh yeah, tomorrow I get to watch the first two episodes of the new season of the OC. I don't really like the show that much, but it's so cool to see things early.

Anyway, I guess that's all.

I just discovered a new cartoon, Justice League Unlimited! Cool.

I have an LS midterm Monday, but I don't really think I'm ready.

Hmm...yeah...short update today.

I'M NOT A LESBIAN!

Okay, I just finished watching Dangerous Liaisons and am now watching Frida.

Can I just say something as a completely heterosexual woman? Not that there's anything wrong with being gay; I'm just not.

Uma Thurman and Salma Hayek have fabulous breasts. I say this out of envy, not desire.

Seriously though, I'm not.

Trial

Well, I haven't been blogging much because I've been trying to decide whether to use xanga or this. I've decided to give this a try for a while.

Other than that, nothing very significant happening. I had an econ midterm today. It was...okay. I don't know how I did, but I need to do really well from now on. My professor is weird and crazy and possibly senile. He had a dog named Winnie and another dog named Pooh. On the midterm, there was a question about whether or not a certain principle pertained to just "'good' goods, i.e. fruit and meat," or also to "'bad' goods, i.e. drugs and naughty pictures." What is that?? Why didn't he just say pornography, or just use a different example altogether? What a weirdo.

Um...

I watched Alfie (before it came out in theaters, thank you very much), and it was mediocre. But Jude Law is cute. Eh. Still not worth watching. I don't recommend it.

I think that's all for now.

Finally

So here it is, finally. I got my own blogger (with MUCH help from Adam). I just did it so that I won't be all conventional like everyone else, although I've been using Xanga for over a year now. It's kinda plain now, but I guess eventually I'll learn how to do stuff.
